About
Focus and Scope
Intaglio welcomes contributions of any work related to visual culture and its history, specifically work that seeks to bridge disciplinary and geographic divides. Contributors may submit their original writing and artwork to the journal.
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Shorter, topical pieces, reviews, and artwork submissions may be internally reviewed and published on a rolling basis. Formal research articles are subject to a double blind peer-review process before being published in the journal.
PUBLICATION FREQUENCY
Publication of Intaglio occurs on a rolling basis. Volumes are collated and published anually.
OPEN ACCESS POLICY
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Intaglio Journal was founded in 2019 and published through the University of Toronto Art Journals’ OJS system until 2022. Intaglio is now hosted by the University of Michigan’s “Humanities Commons” open access repository. It continues to publish open access interdisciplinary scholarly, graduate, and early-career faculty work on visual culture.
